The Rector of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, Engr. Dr. Christopher Kalu Okoro, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare, dignity and professional well-being of staff of the institution.
Dr. Okoro said staff welfare remains one of the core priorities of his administration, stressing that employees deserve to be treated with dignity, fairness and respect while receiving the necessary support to perform their duties effectively.
The Rector, who spoke in the context of the administration of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Abia State, said the Polytechnic management would continue to explore ways of improving staff working conditions and creating an environment that promotes confidence, dedication and renewed motivation.
According to him, although the institution has not yet attained all its desired goals, significant progress has been recorded compared to where it was in the past.
“We may not have reached where we aspire to be, but we are certainly better off than where we used to be. The progress we have made is encouraging, and we remain committed to doing more,” he stated.
The Rector emphasised that a happy and motivated workforce is critical to the development of a strong and successful institution.
He noted that when staff members feel valued and adequately supported, they are better positioned to contribute meaningfully to the education and development of students as well as the overall growth of the Polytechnic.
Dr. Okoro assured staff that the journey of institutional transformation would continue, adding that their welfare would remain at the heart of his administration’s priorities.
