Nigeria’s Super Eagles are set to begin their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign with a home fixture against Madagascar.

The opening Group F encounter is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Eric Chelle’s men will then travel to Morocco for their second qualifying match against Guinea-Bissau’s Djurtus on Sunday, September 27.

Tanzania’s Taifa Stars are the fourth team in Nigeria’s qualifying group.

The Super Eagles will enter the campaign among the favourites to finish top of the group, given Nigeria’s pedigree and long-standing record in African football.

The three-time African champions finished third at the most recent AFCON tournament hosted by Morocco.

With the 2027 AFCON qualification race set to begin, the Super Eagles will be aiming to put themselves in a strong position early in the campaign.
