President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife and First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as she marks her 66th birthday, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante.”
In a heartfelt birthday message released on Monday, September 21, 2026, the President praised Oluremi for her patience, courage, honesty and unwavering support throughout their years together.
Tinubu said his wife had remained by his side through difficult periods, noting that she often provided counsel and emotional support even before he asked for it.
He described her as someone who speaks honestly to him, including on occasions when her advice may be difficult to hear.
According to the President, Oluremi’s devotion has also shaped their family, saying their children and grandchildren have grown under the influence of her prayers, faith and values.
Tinubu also highlighted his wife’s humanitarian activities, referencing her work through the New Era Foundation in Lagos and the Renewed Hope Initiative.
He said her efforts have supported young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers, while also noting her advocacy for people affected by tuberculosis and other illnesses.
The President said Oluremi’s compassion had extended beyond ethnic, regional and religious boundaries, adding that she had quietly supported people, including some she had never personally met.
Reflecting on their years together, Tinubu said their journey had included difficult decisions, sacrifices, laughter and prayer, which he described as part of what had sustained their relationship.
He further said that if he were given the opportunity to start his life again, he would still choose the path that led him to Oluremi.
“Through every mile, my heart has always remained at home with you,” Tinubu said.
The President expressed gratitude for the life they had built together and prayed that his wife would enjoy many more years in good health and happiness.
He concluded the message by wishing the First Lady a happy 66th birthday and expressing his love for her.
