A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ibrahim Modibbo, has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will suffer defeat in the 2027 presidential election, claiming the outcome would become clear within the early hours of voting.
Modibbo made the assertion while appearing on AIT’s Democracy Today programme on Friday night.
The ADC chieftain also declared that the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, remains unrivalled among politicians, including President Tinubu.
“Atiku is one politician today that can’t be rivalled by any politician, including the President,” Modibbo said.
He further stated: “Let me repeat again, President Bola Tinubu will be defeated before 8 o’clock on the day of the election.”
Modibbo also criticised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, accusing him of using public funds to advance political interests.
According to the ADC chieftain, Wike lacks sufficient understanding of political dynamics in northern Nigeria, arguing that his political experience is largely centred on Rivers State.
“He is taking public money to spend on politics talking about the President. He doesn’t know anything about the politics of the North and Nigeria; the only knowledge he has is the politics of Rivers,” he added.
The comments come amid increasing political realignments and heightened debate among opposition parties ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
