Former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has dismissed reports of a possible breakdown in his political relationship with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

Ortom was a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) G5 Governors, also known as the Integrity Group, which emerged ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The group included Wike, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, and former governors Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.

While political differences have persisted between some members of the group and Wike, there have also been reports of tension between Ortom and the FCT Minister.

However, appearing on ARISE TV’s Morning Show on Tuesday, Ortom described the reports of a fallout between him and Wike as speculation.

The former governor acknowledged that they sometimes disagree but insisted that their political relationship remains intact.

“Sometimes we argue. I, Samuel Ortom, remain committed to the FCT Minister,” he said.

Ortom further reaffirmed his loyalty to Wike, describing him as a national leader.

“I remain committed to our national leader, Nyesom Wike,” he added.
