Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly stepped up efforts to secure the long-term future of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia by seeking a contract extension before the announcement of the Ballon d’Or winner.
According to French sports newspaper L’Équipe, PSG are keen to finalize the new deal before the prestigious award is announced, amid concerns that negotiations could become more difficult should the Georgian winger win the prize.
Discussions between Kvaratskhelia’s representatives and the French champions have reportedly been ongoing for several weeks and are progressing positively, with an agreement expected to be reached soon.
The proposed contract would keep the 25-year-old at the Parc des Princes until either 2030 or 2031 and would include a significant salary increase.
Kvaratskhelia enjoyed a highly successful campaign with PSG last season, helping the club secure both the Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League titles.
The winger is also regarded as one of the leading contenders for the Ballon d’Or, with the winner expected to be announced next month.
