Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has accused Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, of blaming him for virtually every problem or development in the governor’s office and residence.
Wike made the remarks during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Tuesday.
The former Rivers State governor said Abdulrazaq had allegedly made him the scapegoat whenever something unexpected happened, joking that even the sight of a snake or reptile would be attributed to him.
“The governor of Kwara, so unfortunate, anytime he sees a snake, it’s Wike. Anytime he sees a reptile, it’s Wike. Any day he doesn’t eat, it’s Wike,” Wike said.
He also accused the Kwara governor of devoting too much attention to gossip rather than concentrating on the responsibilities of governance.
Wike was speaking against the backdrop of the Rainbow Coalition’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid and criticism reportedly expressed by some governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The FCT minister alleged that Abdulrazaq was using the controversy surrounding the coalition’s activities to divert attention from political challenges within Kwara State.
Wike further questioned the governor’s handling of his relationship with members of the National Assembly from the state, alleging that several serving lawmakers had been replaced.
“He has three serving senators; he changed all of them. He has House of Representatives members; he changed all of them. Now, if you are a good politician, you’ll see it doesn’t look good,” Wike said.
The comments add to the growing political exchanges surrounding the 2027 general election and the alliances emerging ahead of the polls.
